Op 27 mei brengen wij een eerbetoon aan Benoit Colpaert, een jonge, bevlogen RITCS-student die wij in februari 2025 verloren aan de gevolgen van kanker. Wij als studenten, docenten en collega’s van het RITCS herinneren ons Benoit om zijn tomeloze enthousiasme voor de film en de fijne energie waarmee hij op de set, in de klas en op café kwam. We vertonen deze avond om 19 uur een kortfilm van Benoit, “Koningin Van Oostende”, die hij op het RITCS maakte als onderdeel van het vak AtelierDocumentaire. De kortfilm belichaamt Benoit’s typische stijl: de combinatie van humor en emotionele fragiele onderwerpen. Benoit was enorm fier op deze film.

 Nadien vertonen we Benoit’s lievelingsfilm PULP FICTION van Quentin Tarantino.

Na de film(s) bent u welkom om Kwak -het lievelingsbier van Benoit- te bestellen in het Ritcs Café. 

We zamelen deze avond donaties in voor het goede doel: kankerbestrijding bij jongvolwassenen (Kom Op tegen Kanker en AYA) en het financieren van de productie post-mortem van één van zijn geschreven kortfilms “Een rode minicooper met een dakkoffer”.

On May 27, we will pay tribute to Benoit Colpaert, a young and spirited RITCS student whom we lost to cancer in February 2025. We as students, faculty and colleagues of the RITCS remember Benoit fondly for his boundless enthusiasm and the warm energy with which he arrived on set, in class and at the café.

We are screening this evening at 7 p.m. a short film by Benoit, “Queen Of Ostend,” which he made at RITCS as part of the AtelierDocumentary course. The short film embodies Benoit’s typical style: the combination of humor and emotionally fragile subjects. Benoit was immensely proud of this film.

Afterwards, we will screen Benoit’s favorite film PULP FICTION by Quentin Tarantino.

After the film(s), you are welcome to order Kwak – Benoit’s favorite beer – at the Ritcs Café.

This evening, we are collecting donations for charity: fighting cancer in young adults (Come On Against Cancer and AYA) and funding the production post-mortem of one of his written short films “A Red Mini Cooper with a Roof Box.”

Le 27 mai, nous rendrons hommage à Benoit Colpaert, un jeune et fougueux étudiant du RITCS que nous avons perdu à cause d’un cancer en février 2025. En tant qu’étudiants, professeurs et collègues du RITCS, nous nous souvenons affectueusement de Benoit pour son enthousiasme débordant et l’énergie chaleureuse avec laquelle il arrivait sur le plateau, en classe et au café.

Nous projetons ce soir à 19 heures un court métrage de Benoit, « Queen Of Ostend », qu’il a réalisé au RITCS dans le cadre du cours AtelierDocumentaire. Le court-métrage incarne le style typique de Benoit : la combinaison de l’humour et de sujets émotionnellement fragiles. Benoit était très fier de ce film.

Ensuite, nous projetterons le film préféré de Benoit, PULP FICTION de Quentin Tarantino.

Après le(s) film(s), vous êtes invités à commander de la Kwak – la bière préférée de Benoît – au Ritcs Café.

Ce soir, nous collectons des dons pour des œuvres caritatives : la lutte contre le cancer chez les jeunes adultes (Kom Op tegen Kanker et AYA) et le financement de la production post-mortem de l’un de ses courts métrages « A red minicooper with a roof box » (Une minicooper rouge avec un coffre de toit).
